Quick Tip: Tackling Private Practice Overwhelm by Taking Inventory

This video-blog is the first in a series of short videos about how therapists in private practice can reduce their sense of overwhelm. This video addresses how taking inventory of the current state of your private practice is a great starting point as you begin tackling overwhelm.

I guarantee these videos will be short and sweet. From personal experience, I know that long and rambling videos are not helpful to a therapist who is feeling overwhelmed because they contain way too much information. My intention is to share actionable steps you can take to begin reducing your overwhelm today.

The first step is to take inventory and get honest about the state of your practice. Check out the below video for how you can do this.

Taking Inventory

Take-Aways from this video:

  • Taking Inventory allows you to get a clear picture of your practice right now, so that you can see what is going well and where you are struggling.
  • Get as specific as possible (exact numbers!) as you take inventory, so you can get an accurate idea of how much time you need to devote to getting your practice in order + see and celebrate your progress as you go.
  • Look for opportunities to replicate the systems and strategies that are working well in areas of your practice.
  • Go ahead and get started! As you look at your inventory, I suggest either starting with the area of your practice that is causing you the most overwhelm (may take longer to address, but you’ll feel the impact of tackling this area in a big way) or starting with several “little” things, so that you can build momentum.

Stay tuned for video #2 coming soon!

Take Care,

Sarah
